3.3-V Powered, Fault-Protected High-Speed CAN Transceivers: 3PEAK Launches TPT133x Series

2024-04-22

3PEAK (stock code: 688536), a semiconductor company focusing on the development of high-performance analog chips and embedded processors, has recently launched the TPT133x series of high-speed CAN transceivers. These products are powered by 3.3-V and feature fault protection capabilities.

The TPT133x series meets the requirements of the ISO 11898-2:2016 standard, supports 3.3-V power supply, 5-Mbps CAN FD communication, and includes various fault protection features. The series is suitable for a wide range of applications, including industrial automation, communication base stations, energy storage systems, power systems, sensor modules, and industrial drones.

Advantages of TPT133x

• 3.3-V VCC Power Support

Mainstream CAN transceivers typically require 4.5-V to 5.5-V power supply. They are not ideal for CAN communication designs with only a 3.3-V power source on the system and require additional boost circuits. TPT133x supports a power supply range of 3-V to 3.6-V, enhancing the convenience of CAN transceiver applications in 3.3-V power supply systems.

• Up to 5-Mbps CAN FD

Existing 3.3-V powered CAN transceivers are limited to 1-Mbps, restricting high-speed transmission scenarios. The TPT133x series supports up to 5-Mbps CAN FD, breaking the limitation of 3.3-V powered transceivers for medium- to low-speed applications.

• High Bus Voltage Tolerance

The TPT133x series supports ±45-V bus fault protection, making it suitable for 12-V, 24-V, or higher voltage bus systems. This expands the application scope of 3.3-V powered CAN transceivers in medium-voltage bus systems, and enhances system robustness.
